Frank Peter Speeney, 84, of the 900 block of N. Hilltop Road, died August 17, 2023. His loving wife of 51 years Dorothy Ann Speeney preceded him in death. He was a native of Philadelphia, PA, and the son of the late Frank Speeney and Julia Speeney Lamelza. He retired in 2007 from American Greetings as an Account Manager after 37 years in the greeting card industry. Frank proudly served his country for four years in the US Navy and trained as a Seabee. He was a Roman Catholic and a member of the Church of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Democratic Club of Norfolk, Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus, and was a Past Grand Commander with the International Order of the Alhambra, Padul Caravan #69. He was loved by many friends as well as a large Italian family. He was active in local charities in association with the Order of the Alhambra.

Frank is survived by his children; David (Vivian) Speeney of Virginia Beach, VA, Francis (Alicia) Speeney of Charleston, SC, Lynn Speeney of Virginia Beach, VA, and Robert (Susan) Speeney of Dublin, OH. He is also survived by his sister; Barbara Walker of Tamaqua, PA, and his grandchildren; Matthew, Eric, Michael, Brendon, Anna, and Ellie as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his older brother Frederick Speeney.

The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1396 Lynnhaven Parkway, Virginia Beach VA on Saturday August 26, 2023, at 10 am by Reverend Anthony Mpungu. Interment will be private.

The Alhambra Crescent Service will be held in the Laskin Road Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Friday August 25 at 6:00 PM followed by a visitation until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Virginia 184 Business Park Dr. Ste 202, Virginia Beach ,VA 23462 or go to https://www.specialolympicsva.org/southeast-region/area-2.
