Final Salute

Frank Mekina, 105, passed away on October 2, 2022 at The Village of St. Edward at Fairlawn. Frank was born in Barberton where he was a life resident and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was a Navy Seabee and a lifetime member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters.

Preceded in death by his loving wife Catherine; brother Joseph Mekina; great-granddaughter Makenzie Brothers; and son-in-law Woody Johnson; He is survived by his daughters Jennifer (Kenneth) Pokopac and Eileen Johnson all of Fairlawn; grandson Christopher Brothers (Tara) of Iowa; and twin great-grandsons Devin and Zander Brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave., Norton. Fr. Robert Jackson celebrant. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Calling Hours One Hour Prior to the Mass AT THE CHURCH.
