Danvers – Frank C. Bertini, 81, of Danvers, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House. He was the loving husband of Anna Flynn Bertini.
Born in Salem on April 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Charles and Esther (Viselli) Bertini. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a 1957 graduate of Salem High School. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy, where he was a proud member of the Seabees and was stationed in Guantanamo Bay during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Returning from the service, he resumed his work in the family restaurant, Bertini’s Restaurant on Canal Street in Salem. Frank also established and operated the Wine Cellar in Beverly and the Chase House on Pickering Wharf, two successful restaurants to which guests were welcomed by Frank’s warmth and hard work.
Frank was constantly willing to help out where needed, even if it was quietly in the background of various community events. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 155 at Saint Richard Church, his worship community where he was always ready to lend a hand. He was a member of the Polish Club in Danvers.
Frank enjoyed boating, waterskiing, snow skiing, dancing, and cooking. Above all, Frank was dedicated to his loving family.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his children, Jami Bertini of Fairfield, Conn., Frank Bertini, Jr. and his wife Megan of Hanover, Christopher Bertini of Danvers, Juliana Bertini of Danvers, and Erik Flynn and his wife, Jennifer of Danvers, his grandchildren, Jordyn, Jenna, and Jack Patterson, Delani and Lila Flynn, and Teresa Bertini, and a brother, John Bertini and his wife Pauline of Salem.
He was predeceased by two beloved daughters, Tami and Kirsten Bertini.
His Funeral Mass will be Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Please note that capacity in the church is limited and those who are not vaccinated must wear facial coverings. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. in C.R. Lyons & Sons Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. Burial will be private.
