Edward Washock, 85, of Troy, passed into eternal rest on January 2, 2025.
Born on February 28, 1939, Ed was born and raised in South Troy. Son of the late Julia Hennessy and Sigmund Washock. Husband of the late Dorothy Bushwinger Washock. Ed graduated from LaSalle Institute and served in the U.S. Navy Seabees. He retired from the U.S. Post office in Troy as a letter carrier.
Ed loved to spend time with his family and friends, and his lunch LaSalle Lunch Pals at the Red Front. Ed also enjoyed going to the casino. He was a lifelong member of the Polish American Club in South Troy, also a member of the Poestenkill Seniors. He was predeceased by his brothers Jack, Bob, Don and Jim. Ed is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Ed will be held on Monday afternoon, at 1 p.m., at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy, with Deacon Charles Wojton officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ed’s memory to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 State St., Troy N.Y. “South Troy Against The World.”
