Edward Doc Sehl, age 57, of Vanderbilt, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2024, at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital, in Gaylord, Michigan.

Ed was born March 17th, 1967, in Gaylord, Michigan the son of the late Frederick and the late Marion (Reed) Sehl. On his birthday Ed would love to tell everyone that his birthday was the only holiday in March.

Ed was raised in Gaylord and graduated from Gaylord High School, the graduating class of 1985. He achieved many things in his life, but family and country were most important to him. With thanks and praise we honor Ed for proudly serving his country in the United States Navy Seabee division. Additionally, Ed loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing and hunting. He was a man of many talents and worked various jobs during his life… from welding to truck driving, to factory production, and most recently working for East Jordan Plastics.

When Ed was not working at his job he could be found wrenching on his “Rat Rod”. He was very proud of the fact that he built the “Rat Rod” himself. Ed would take his car to many car shows and loved telling others, “You can build anything you set your mind to”.

Ed leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Melisa; his children, Ashley (Derek) Beagle, and Andrew, Nicholas, and Abigail Fuhst; grandchildren, Brody, Brady, Catlyn, and Serenity; and siblings, Johnny (Carolyn) Sehl, Marilyn (Chester) Ciszewski, and Marlene (Michael) Deatrick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marion Sehl; his brother-in-law and most cherished friend, David Barber; brother, Frederick Sehl; sister, Sue Ann Sehl, beautiful angel niece, Maykla Barber; and nephews, Joe Baker and Bo Ormsbee.

Visitation for Ed will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Nelsons Funeral Home in Gaylord. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Funeral Home.
