Date of passing 06/01/2023

Mr. Doran P. Doyle, of Pittsfield, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Thursday, June 1, 2023, just two months shy of celebrating his 77th birthday. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on August 1, 1946, he was the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Callahan Doyle. Living in Pittsfield his entire life, he attended Pittsfield schools, and later earned his Associate Degree in Art & Business from Berkshire Community College.

Doran was a Vietnam War Veteran. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1969, where he proudly served his country until 1971. He re-enlisted into the Naval Reserves as a Seabee before transferring to the Air Force Reserves, where he continued his service until his retirement.

Following his time in the military, Doran was employed by the United States Postal Service, where he worked within the Pittsfield Post Office, retiring after 37 dedicated years of service.

Among many things, he enjoyed riding his motorcycles, driving his sports cars in the summer, visiting family in Florida during the cold months, and garage gatherings with family and friends.

Doran is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Sheila Banas, whom he married August 29, 1970. He leaves behind his daughter, Tricia Bronson and husband James Bronson, his son, Scott Doyle and wife Michelle Doyle of Pittsfield, his daughter Colleen Doyle and husband Timothy Carroll of Pittsfield, his daughter Candace Delano (Doyle) and husband Ted Delano of Swampscott, MA, and his brother Mark Doyle of Lake Worth, FL. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren, Peyton Doyle, Colin Doyle, Chase Doyle, TJ Delano, Tiana Delano, Doyle Delano and Emma Smith. Known as “Pa” to his grandchildren, he was actively involved in their lives, attending nearly every sporting event he could. If he couldn’t attend in person, he watched it via live stream. Doran is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Besides his parents, Doran was predeceased by his brother Thomas Doyle who passed away in 2000.

While he will be sorely missed, all those who knew Doran knew of his quick wit and sense of humor, which will be always appreciated and never forgotten.
