Final Salute

Donald (Don) E. Jones, 95, passed away peacefully January 15, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born December 12, 1927 in Covington, Oklahoma to William Thomas Jones and Marguerite (Shaffer) Jones.
Don was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and served as a Navy Seabee. An auto mechanic by trade, he was the maintainer and fixer of everything. He loved yard work and was an avid gardener. Don was a dedicated father and loved his family above all else. He was an ideal role model.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Jones; son, Scott Jones; and brother, William Jones. Survivors include his daughter, Anna Johnson and husband Mark; stepson, Rick Still and wife Maria Isabel; stepdaughter, Sheila Hoyt; daughter-in-law, Debbie Jones; 6 grandchildren, Donny, Grant, Alan, Brendan, Julie, and Jay; 3 great-grandchildren, Ian, Abigail, and Aurora; and nephew, Donny Jones and wife Janice.
Visitation with family present will be Sunday, January 22, from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Monday, January 23, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment at 3:00pm in Covington Cemetery, Covington, Oklahoma. His family encourages casual dress in honor of Don’s memory.
