Mr. Dennis “Chris” Leroy Christoffersen

Dennis “Chris” Leroy Christoffersen, passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 90. He was born to Arso and Elva Christoffersen on July 23, 1933, in Brigham City, Utah. He spent his childhood in Brigham City where he attended Central Elementary School. He moved to Chicago, Illinois, for a brief time, then returned to Salt Lake City, Utah, where he graduated from East High School. He later made his home in Mesquite, Nevada.

He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, during the Korean War, and later served in the Navy Reserve as a SeaBee. He was a skilled Carpenter Millwright with the Southwest Carpenters Union. His profession allowed him to travel and explore the western states. Chris had a passion for photography, which he often pursued in his spare time. He was known for his easy-going nature, his ability to dream big, and his fun and happy disposition. Always looking for the good in others, Chris was a beacon of positivity in the lives of many.

Chris and his beloved wife, Lorraine Elmer, were married on September 20, 1958 in Garland, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. Lorraine was the love of his life and family was of utmost importance to Chris. He loved camping, fishing, and spending time outdoors with his family. He and his wife, Lorraine, were avid bowlers. They regularly bowled on leagues where they formed many lifelong friendships.

Chris is survived by his daughters Denise (Scott) Stottern, Jeannette (Rick) Dickinson, and Teresa (Blake) Wall as well as eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his cherished wife Lorraine, his parents, Arso Christoffersen and Elva Petersen, his brother Ardel, and his grandchildren Jeramy, Brittney, Kaley, and great-granddaughter Holland.

A viewing will be held at Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City, UT, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:30 – 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery where military honors will be accorded.
