David Joseph Trombly, 58, of Keene, passed away Sunday Jan. 26, 2025 following a period of declining health.
He was born Nov. 30, 1966, at Elliot Community Hospital in Keene to Ardis L. Trombly (Martell) and Arthur L. Trombly.
David attended St. Joe’s, Surry Elementary, Jonathan Daniels Elementary, Keene Junior High, Keene High and Nathaniel Hawthorne College.
In 1986, he completed boot camp in San Diego, Calif., and joined the U.S. Navy as a Seabee.
He worked as a carpenter for Bergeron Construction, did drywall with Maliska Drywall, worked in the service department at Keene Chrysler and later started his own painting business.
David was very athletic and competitive. He played hockey for Keene High School, wearing his lucky #7! He also enjoyed golf, baseball, softball, hunting and fishing. When he wasn’t playing sports, he would coach his daughter’s soccer team.
Those closest to David would describe him as charismatic and witty. He could imitate anyone and left you crying with laughter. David was a handyman who could fix practically anything. He had the best taste in music, which he shared his love for with his daughters. And, according to his brothers, he was “always up for a dare!” They have many wonderful memories with him, but few appropriate enough to repeat.
David is survived by his father and stepmother, Arthur and Raette Trombly; his daughters: Christine Aguilar and her husband, Isidro; Megan Bonilla and her husband, Josue, of Rialto, Calif.; and his stepdaughter, Rachel Bemis; his brothers: Edward Trombly and his wife, Sheryl; Mark Trombly; and a stepbrother, Stacey Beaudoin, and his longtime partner, Jenn Quimby; his sister, Jacquelyn Allen, and her husband, Mark; his grandchildren, Joshua Atia, Leonardo, Olivia and Jhonny Aguilar, Connor and Chloe Smith and Kya Burnham; and his nieces and nephews, Zachary Trombly, Abella Trombly, Beckett Allen and Landen Beaudoin.
He is predeceased by his mother, Ardis Trombly, and her husband, Robert Irwin.
There will be no calling hours and the family will celebrate his life in a private family service.
