East Wakefield – David J. Duggan passed away peacefully at his lake house in East Wakefield, NH on December 2, 2021 at the age of 62.
He was born in Newburyport, MA, on March 24, 1959 to parents, John and Raelene Duggan, and was a 1977 graduate of Newburyport High School.
A proud veteran, and of a special breed, the United States Navy Seabees, honorably serving his country for six years, and he never shed the Seabees “Can Do” spirit. A true patriot through and through, he cared passionately about his country and politics. He was a successful businessman and insurance agent. His customers all adored him. He had a passion and deep love for music and was a talented musician as a vocalist, guitarist, and pianist.
Even through his suffering the past year from cancer and other illnesses, Dave fought a courageous battle, and just a month prior to his passing, with many family and friends present at his home, was able to take the microphone and sing a final performance alongside family and life long friends.
He is predeceased by his father, and is survived by daughters, Bridget Njuguna and husband, John, of Byfield, MA, Christina Duggan who is attending college in the Netherlands, and Julia Duggan of Arundel, ME, mother, Raelene Duggan of Wells, ME, brothers,, Michael Duggan and wife, Ann of Amesbury, MA, Philip Duggan and wife, Brenda of Milbridge, ME, John Duggan of Canaan, ME, and sister, Kelly Duggan of Wells, ME, granddaughters, Emma and Abigail Njuguna of Byfield, MA.
He loved his family, especially his girls, with all his heart. They will always remember him as the amazing father he was. He was their Superman.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, immediately followed by services at the funeral home at 3 p.m.
