Mr. David Gilbert Hendrickson

David Gilbert passed away peacefully on the morning of June 9, 2025 at the age of 87. He was born in Crookston, Minnesota to Dorothy and Dr. Gustave Hendrickson. He graduated from Crookston High School before joining the US Navy. He shared fond memories of his service as a Seabee which took him on many adventures. Later he moved to the Twin Cities where he met and married his beloved wife, Diana Marie DeGidio. They were married for 54 years and raised their family in Northeast Minneapolis. He was the owner of Crookston Floral before he was employed by Hilltop Trailor Sales. He later started his career with Lutheran Brotherhood and retired from Thrivent in 2002. He was an active member of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir and supported the PCYC Mother Daughter Banquets by making wooden centerpieces. He was a volunteer at the Jackson Street Roundhouse Museum. After retiring, they enjoyed long road trips around the county for weeks at a time.

David is preceded in death by his wife, Diana, his parents and siblings Anne Myrold, Lois Escherich and George Hendrickson.

He is survived by his children Beth (Steve) McDonald, Gina (August) O’Meara, Brian (Kaari Moen) Hendrickson, grandchildren Emily (Jonny), Marshall, Charlie, Brendan, Irma, Ava and Scott, great granddaughters, Bonnie and Elsie, his brother Mark (Gloria) Hendrickson, and sisters-in-laws Sandy Hendrickson, Carol Horton, Nikki Wick, Donna (Brian) Hicks and Susan DeGidio. David is also survived by many nieces, nephews and many close friends that became family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 10:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1509 27th Avenue NE, Minneapolis Mn 55418.
