Final Salute

Darrel W. Holt, 71 of Bedford, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Born September 20, 1951, he was the son of Elbert and Audrey (Matthews) Holt. He married Yolanda Perales on August 14, 1972, and she survives. Darrell was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving as a Seabee. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie #654, Whiter River Bow Hunters, Hoosier Hills C. B. Club, and the American Red Cross. He retired from Visteon in 2008.

Survivors include his wife, Yolanda, of Bedford, a son Rudy W. Holt (Regina); a daughter, Sophia Grow (Jerry); grandchildren, Robert Anderson (Meghan), Nathan Anderson, Tommy Schoolcraft (Coutney), Amber Mosier (Jason), Autumn Arnold (Will), Michael Parker (Sabrina), Jimmy Parker (Jayda); numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Jr. Holt and Robert Holt; sisters, Juanita Grubb and Alberta Chaffin; a great-granddaughter, Everly Faith Schoolcraft; a nephew, Rick Grubb.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15th at the White River Baptist Cemetery with Clarence Brown officiating. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
