Final Salute

CAMPBELL HILL – Dale Rickenberg, 78, of Campbell Hill, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

Dale was born in Sparta, Illinois, on September 30, 1944, the son of Harold and Rudelle Meyer Rickenberg. He married Linda L. Levan on April 3, 1965 in Campbell Hill, Illinois. Dale was Veteran of the US Navy “Seabees” during the Vietnam Conflict. He was the retired Owner of Rickenberg Electric. Dale was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Wine Hill, Illinois, Kaskaskia VFW Post #3553, Chester, Campbell Hill American Legion Post #1096, Campbell Hill, and IBEW Local #702. Dale enjoyed working on Antique Tractors and Farming. He was an avid Nascar Racing fan and followed the St. Louis Cardinals.

Dale is survived by his wife, Linda Rickenberg of Campbell Hill; children, Doug Rickenberg of Campbell Hill and Cam (Craig) Doeding of Steeleville; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Austin) Rauscher, Kirsten Doeding, Brandon (Danielle) Rickenberg, and Brett Rickenberg; great granddaughter, Mia Rickenberg; and two sisters, Shirley (Nelson) Gremmels of California and Sharon (John) Patterson of California.

Dale was preceded in death by his Parents and one sister, Sandra Garriss.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 10:00 am, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Wine Hill, with Pastor Michael Foppe officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Wine Hill. Visitation will be at Wilson’s Funeral Home, Steeleville, on Tuesday from 5 pm until 8 pm, and on Wednesday from 9 am until 10 am at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery Fund or the DAV.
