Dale Eller, 66, passed away on June 21, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1959 to Wanda Baker and Perry Galloway in Ontario, Oregon. He was raised in Oregon, and later in Northern California by Wanda and Louis Eller. He graduated in 1978 from Hoopa Valley High School and went on to become a Navy Seabee, serving his country both here and overseas. He built a decorated career that reflected his calling to protect those who needed it. He worked as a California Highway Patrol Officer, a Firefighter and Fire Preparedness Trainer, a Youth Counselor, a Division Manager for County Corrections, a Section Parole Supervisor for IDOC, and eventually retired as the Safety Manager for the Salvation Army Kroc Center in North Idaho. He spent so much of his life finding peace and adventure in the mountains, and his love for nature is evident in the art he began to create. He, much like his art, became a pillar his friends and family could always come to. Unwavering and ever-present, his contributions to his community, country, and to those closest to him will live on in those he gave so selflessly to.
Dale is preceded in passing by his mother, Wanda; his birth father, Perry; and his adoptive father, Louis. His legacy and memory will live on in his sweet wife Sara; their children: Aaron, Adam, Alexis, Maisie (John), Colin, Nicola, and Kieran; his grandson, John; his brother, Jesse (Maureen), and their children, Kaela and Ian; and his sister, Gena.
The world will miss you as a protector, mentor, artist, backpacker, and mountain man. We will miss you as a husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025 at The Salvation Army Kroc Center, 1765 W. Golf Course Rd. Coeur d’ Alene, ID 83815. Online condolences may be sent to www.yatesfuneralhomes.com
