Mr. Commie (Tom) Edgar Lawson

Commie (Tom) Lawson, 95, of North Port, Fla., died Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, N.C., surrounded by his family.

He was born June 1, 1927 in Somerville, Mass to Ida and Edgar Lawson. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Guam during World War II as a seabee. After leaving the Navy, he attended Northeastern University and worked at Polaroid for over 30 years until his retirement.

Commie loved the sea and traveling with his wife Marjorie.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie; his daughter, Nan (Jahangir Dehkharghani); stepdaughters Colleen Skates (Jeffrey) and Tina MacNevin (Colin); as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Commie’s last request was a Seagram’s 7 and coke, and hopefully he is enjoying one now. Also at his request, there will not be a service.
