Final Salute

Clinton Gerald Morphies, 75, passed away unexpectedly at this residence on Saturday, March 18, 2023. He was born in a cabin in Forsyth County on August 23, 1947 to the late Charlie Morphies and Pauline Newsom Morphies. Clinton was a veteran of the Vietnam war. He earned a bronze star and served honorably in the Navy as a SeaBee. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, camping, and photography.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Alan, Johnny, and Jerry Morphies.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 31 years, Patricia Willard Morphies; one son, Derek S Morphies of Walkertown; a daughter, Melissa K Hart (Chris Goddard) of Winston-Salem; a sister and brother-in-law Audrey and Barry Martin of Fayetteville; Two grandchildren, Stephani V James and Clinton J. Hart (Lexie McKracken); as well as great-grandson Nick and many special nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Gardens of Memory- Walkertown with Pastor Steve Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM-1:30 PM at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel prior to the service. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
