Charles Thomas Meyers (Fuzzy), 79, of Shell Lake, Wisconsin (Belvidere, Illinois), passed away on January 26th, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Charles was preceded by his father, Charles “Shook” Meyers, and mother, Dorothy (Carpenter) Meyers. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Meyers, and children, Curtis Charles Meyers (Myung Rae), Scott Howard Meyers (Stephanie), Stacy Kay Meyers (Rich) and Tracy Irene Lehmann (John); grandchildren, Steve, Jasper, Charles, Jake, Ben, Jessica Tanner and Cooper; great-granddaughter, Emilia. Siblings, Jim (late MaryBeth), Jeannie (Ray Massingil) and John (Annie), along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Charles grew up in Belvidere, Illinois. He met his wife, Sandy, in high school and they married in 1966. Charles served in Vietnam as a Navy Seabee. They had four children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter, all of whom lovingly referred to him as Gramps. He worked many years hauling cars for Cassens Transport in Belvidere, Illinois. After retiring, Charles enjoyed spending time with family & friends. Retirement allowed them to spend more time up at the cabin. They always looked forward to the 4th of July when all the kids & grandkids came up. As time went on, they realized they wanted to enjoy lake life on a permanent basis, so they became Shell Lake residents. He and Sandy were big supporters of the grandchildren and loved going to many of their school & extracurricular events. Tom also brightened people’s lives by playing Santa Claus for more than 20 years, with his wife, Sandy, as the charming Mrs. Claus. Sandy took the best care of Tom, doing everything she could to help him do the things he needed and wanted to do. Even if she didn’t agree with everything he wanted to do, she still did her best to help him realize those wishes. Services will be held at the Anderson Funeral Home, 218 W.
