Final Salute

Cecil Frank Stokes, age 83 of Griffin, passed away Friday, November 14, 2025.

Frank was born in Byron, Georgia on December 18, 1941. He moved to Griffin with his family in 1978. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Edith Marie Stokes; son, Steve Stokes; sisters, Wylene Ross and Peggy Ayers. He proudly served as a Seabee in the United States Navy for two years, then was in the reserves for four years. Frank retired in 2003 from United Van Lines where he was employed for 20 years. Following his retirement, you could find him fishing in his pond. He treasured spending time with his family, and looked forward to Sunday dinners with everyone. His loyal companion, Sport, was his number one fan.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann Stokes; daughter, Angie Stokes (Kathy); grandchildren, Austin Stokes (Brittany), Sarra Stokes (Blake); great grandchildren, Landon, Brody, Greyson, Alexis, Jaylen, Ryder; sisters, Ruth, Nona, Patsy, Dorothy; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. No formal service will be held.
