Final Salute

July 18, 1963-October 22, 2023

Bruce W. Simmons, 60, of Springfield, Georgia went home to Jesus October 22, 2023, surrounded by his loving wife, Judy Miller Simmons at Candler Hospital.

Bruce was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Bruce was a small business owner – he owned and operated Quality Golf Cars in Bluffton, South Carolina for over 15 years. Bruce retired from Textron as a Golf Car Engineer. He poured his heart and soul into the business which showed to all customers and patrons of Quality Golf Cars.

In addition to owning Quality Golf Cars, Bruce was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Springfield, Georgia and looked forward to his weekly Men’s Bible Study. He spent much of his free time hunting, camping, riding his Harley, and going on outings with his wife.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Judy Miller Simmons; his two children, Austin (Victoria) and Sarah Simmons; two step-children, Mitchell R. Dasher Jr. and Crystal (Aaron) Jordan; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mom, Barbara Simmons of Stuart, Oklahoma; brother, Steve (Kim) Simmons of Tucson, Arizona and a sister, Barbara (Hendrick) Thomsen of Huntsville, Alabama; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father Steve Simmons of Stuart, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
