Final Salute

Goshen – Brent H. Frey, age 71, of Goshen, died Friday, February 13, 2026, at Majestic Care of Goshen, Indiana.

He was born May 25, 1954, in Avilla, Indiana, to Harold “Hock” and Marietha (Weimer) Frey.

Brent was a 1972 graduate of Lakeland High School. He later joined the U.S. Navy, serving from 1974 to 1976 in the Seabee division and was stationed in Puerto Rico.

Brent lived in Sarasota, Florida, for 25 years. On January 22, 1990, he married Debra Ann “Debbie” Tomasevich in Sarasota. Together they operated a mobility home medical repair business. They shared a passion for Doberman Pinschers and founded and operated Suncoast Doberman Rescue, Inc.

Debbie preceded him in death on July 31, 2016.

Surviving are three sisters, Elaine (John Tilden) Simmons of Shipshewana, Indiana, Shelia (Donald “Jerry”) Gunthorp of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Julee Schrock of Wolcottville, Indiana; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife, Brent was preceded in death by his parents.

Following Brent’s wishes, cremation will take place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
