Final Salute

Bobby Harris Meeks, 92, of Bessemer, Alabama passed away Friday, October 10, 2025.  He was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.  Bobby served four years in the Navy as a Seabee where he earned his GED.  From the Navy he worked at US Pipe and Hercules Powder Plant. He joined the Alabama State Troopers around 1958 and served there until 1966.  He had established Meeks Environmental Services in 1957, prior to his job as a trooper. With the septic tank business growing he left the State to work full-time for himself.  Meeks Environmental Services is still in operation.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Harris and Mable Meeks and his wife, Faye Meeks. Bobby is survived by his Sons: Steve Meeks (Debbie), Scotty Scott; Daughters: Terri Meeks, Marsha Gladfelder, and Mary Kay Tully (Tom); Grandchildren: Angela Wood (Jason), Jon Meeks, Cole Tully (Rickelle), Jamie Tully, Connor Scott, Kelsey Wilder (Chris), Hagan Scott (Rachel) and Laura Scott; Great-Grandchildren: Emma, Natalie, Jacob and Olivia Wood, Elliott Tully, Hudson Scott and Harris Wilder.

The visitation will be Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home in Hueytown.  The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
