Mr. Bennie Snoga

Bennie C. Snoga passed away on April 21, 2021 at the age of 89 years old. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him and loved him.

He was born on November 23, 1931 in Groom, Texas to Peter P. Snoga Sr. and Gertrude Urbanczyk Snoga. He grew up in Panna Maria, Texas and graduated from Karnes City High School. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Seabees with his brother Emil during the Korean War. He married Patricia “Pat” Drapalla on October 25, 1958. He worked for City Public Service (CPS Energy) and retired after 39 years of service. He also worked as a representative for Catholic Life Insurance for 33 years. Bennie and Pat were charter members of Holy Name Catholic Church for many years. Bennie was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW, American Legion for many years. In 2016 he was selected to and flew on a Veterans Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C.

Bennie is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Patricia “Pat” Snoga, Daughters: Robin Reeder, Valerie Woodcock (Brian), Son: Glenn Snoga (Phyllis), Grandchildren: Melissa Tedford (Ryan), Chelsea Levy, (Weston), Jessica Reeder, Lindsey Reeder (Joseph), Ben Snoga, and Blaine Snoga, Great grandchildren: Madison Tedford, Timber Levy, Wade Levy, and Landon Gonzales, Sister: Mary McDonald, Brother: Peter P. Snoga Jr. (Kathy).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Son in law: Jamie Reeder, Sisters and brother in laws: Sally and Sixtus Skloss, Lucy and O.B. Pechacek, Gladys Snoga, Dan McDonald, Brothers and sister in law: Alvin and Bernice Snoga, and Emil Snoga. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Sedlak, and all of the loving caregivers at Shavano Park Senior Living. Pallbearers are: Ben Snoga, Blaine Snoga, Brian Woodcock, Steve Skloss, Otto ( Jr.) Pechacek, and Walter Welch. Honorary Pallbearers are: Bobby Hoffmann, Joe Pechacek, Gene Snoga, Joe Kolodziej, and Tom Acker.

Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church in San Antonio followed by a rosary at 9:45. The funeral mass will begin after the rosary (approximately 10:10). Catholic Christian burial with military honors will follow in Panna Maria Cemetery.
