Benedito “Ben” Johns, 94, passed away at Mercy New Life Hospice on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 in Lorain, OH.Benedito was born on March 17, 1927 in Lorain, OH. Following graduation from Clearview High School, he honorably served in the United States Navy during WWII with the Seabees. Ben was an Electrical Foreman for U.S. Steel, a former member St. John’s Church in Lorain, OH, and member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Elyria and the I.A.V. Post #1 in Lorain. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and gardening.He is survived by his wife, Beatrice A. (nee Tocchi) Johns; sons, Timothy B. Johns and Mark (Pam) Johns; daughters, Mary Indre and Patty (Juan) Munoz; stepsons, Virgil (Debbie) Caserta and Pat (Mary Jo) Caserta; sister, Marian Artidiello; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mary (nee Condi) Johns; wife, Theresa Rose (nee Sestili); brother, Ralph Johns; sister, Marcella “Toots” Dailey; son, Michael “Mickey” Johns; and son-in-law, Larry Indre.Ben’s family will receive family and friends at Reidy-Scanlan-Giovannazzo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2150 Broadway, Lorain, OH, (440) 244-1961 on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Christian burial services will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 555 N. Ridge Rd., Lorain, OH, Fr. Neil Walters, Pastor, officiating with military honors by the U.S. Navy on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 9 AM (meet at the main entrance of cemetery).
