Anthony “Tony” J. Mandile, 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester after a brief illness. He is the beloved husband of the late Wanda (Romanszkiewicz) Mandile with whom he shared 55 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2007.
Tony was born in Newton, Massachusetts, on April 10, 1931, and was the son of the late Joseph and Maria (Zanka) Mandile.
He proudly served his country during the Korean War enlisted in the United States Airforce until he was honorably discharged in December of 1950.
In his free time, he was an avid outdoorsman and nature lover, enjoying hunting, fishing, and taking pride in being a conservationist. Around his home, Tony was dubbed the handyman where he would take on “Do-It-Yourself” tasks to update his home and he also loved reading books about history. He was a proud member of the Trinity Lodge A.F & A.M as well as the Navy Seabee Veterans of American Inc. He was truly a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed for his keen intelligence, down to earth sense of humor, and being a genuinely caring person.
Tony is survived by his two children, Diane Spengler and her husband Mark of Orleans, MA, and Michael Mandile of Nashua; his two grandchildren, Rebecca Caruso and her husband Dustin of Oakland, CA and Lauren Spengler and her fiancé Gregory Langham of Arlington, MA; as well as his great-granddaughter Corinna Caruso. He is also survived by his sister Mariann Anderson of Waltham, MA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, Tony was predeceased by his brother Stephen Mandile.
Relatives and friends are invited to Tony’s WALK THROUGH visitation on TUESDAY, May 18th from noon until 1:30 PM at ROCHETTE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERIVICES, 21 Kinsley Street, Nashua. His Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 1:30 following his visitation. Interment and presentation of military honors will be held on MONDAY, May 24th at 2 PM in the New Hampshire State Veteran Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH.
