Mr. Anthony Brandolo

Anthony “Tony” Brondolo passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 2, 2024 at 100 years old. He resided in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Born in New York City, New York on May 13, 1924, Anthony was the son of the late Giovanni and Angela (Sardi) Brondolo. Following High School graduation, he was drafted into the US Navy, Seabees Unit in the South Pacific during World War II. He worked at the Morning Telegraph in the Circulation Department. Upon his return from the Navy, he met Barbara (Betty) and married in 1949. They bought a home in Bayside, Queens where he resided for over 60 years.

Tony was predeceased by his loving wife Barbara (Friedrich) of 46 years, as well as his sister Madeline Curletti. He is survived by his three children, Michael and (Kathy) of Stony Point, Joan and (Peter) Norwood of East Hampton, Ct. and Thomas and (Liz) of New York City. In addition, Tony is survived by his 7 grandchildren: Ian (Sarah), Ryan (Michelle) and Jenna, Barbara (Jeff) and Patrick (Annabelle) and Emma (Patrick) and Elena (Kyle).

He was also great-grandfather to Madison, Cash, Lily, Luca, Isabella, Antonio and Mirabella with two more on the way! He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and extended family members.

Tony cherished spending time with his family. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life, forming relationships with each and everyone of them. He was an accomplished musician who played Saxophone and Clarinet in a band during summers in the Catskill Mountain Resorts as well as in New York City clubs. He was a humble man known for his kindness and love of family. He loved walking and reading.

A visitation for Tony will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 3:00 pm-7:00pm, with a Memorial Service at 6:00pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc 73 North Liberty Drive, Stony Point, NY 10980. Burial at Brick Church Cemetery 221 Brick Church Road, Spring Valley, NY 10977 will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 at 11:00 Am.
