Allan James Cotton, 86, of Medford, Oregon passed away following a battle with lung cancer, on June 5, 2022. He was born March 26, 1936, in Medford, Oregon, to Charles James Cotton and Ethel Estelle Cotton,(Messenger).

Following his graduation from Phoenix High School he Joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 20 and served 20 years as a Seabee all over the world and in the U.S., including Antarctica, Vietnam, Guam and Okinawa.

In 1957 he married Patricia Lowery Cotton and had four children. They were married until her passing in December of 2016.

On February7, 2018, he married his second wife, Leah Bird, (Hufford).

Allan loved woodworking and did so for many years and donated items made to children. He also liked growing plants and travel. He also like a good cup of black coffee and the crossword puzzle every morning.

His kind nature and loving care of other people will always be remembered. He was a truly kind and giving man in all ways, to Country and to family.

His last five years of life were ones of travel, volunteer work for the genealogy library, feeding homeless and making things for children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Cotton and first wife Patricia.

He is survived by his loving wife Leah, sister Dorothy Cotton, children Michael Cotton, Laura Johnson, Kathleen Cooley, Christine Pierce and 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

He will be interred at the Eagle Point National Cemetery
