Aldo J. Tiboni, 97, passed away peacefully, May 13, 2021.
A longtime resident of Springfield, Aldo was born in Adams, MA, the son of Italian immigrants, the late Francesco & Palmira (Labigalini) Tiboni.
Drafted at age 19, Aldo proudly served as a Seabee in the Navy’s construction battalion in England during WWII.
In 1949, being a talented artist, he headed off to Boston spending 5 years as a student, at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts.
In 1956 Aldo met and fell in love with, “the beautiful” Flora Theresa Circosta; they were married the following year. They spent spent 47 wonderful years together, raising their cherished son Aldo F. Tiboni, before her passing in 2004.
Aldo was a proud union ironworker; a loyal lifetime member of Local 357 in Springfield, having had a hand in many of the buildings that dot western Massachusetts.
A special thank you goes to Drs. Laura Gioiella, David Serlin, Kyle Richards, and Priscilla Merriam, and everyone at Dana Farber who turned what was once a death sentence into something he died with and not of.
Along with his beloved son, Aldo F. & wife Elaine Tiboni of Florence, Aldo will be dearly missed by his brother and best friend, John Tiboni, with whom he lived.
A private funeral service, with full military honors, was held for Aldo at Tazzini Funeral Home and Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
