Obituary of Ace D. Simmons
Ace D. Simmons Sr., 68, of 136 High Street, Bradford, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 8th, 2022 at the VA Buffalo Hospital, after struggling with cancer.
He was born December 11th, 1953 in Syracuse, NY the son of the late Earl and Lorraine (Ellis) Simmons.
He survived by his wife, Lajeania (“Jeannie”) Simmons, whom he married on August 12th, 2017 in a commitment ceremony.
Ace is also survived by his children; daughter Michelle (Sheila) Aaron-Simmons, Sons Ace (Angela) Simmons Jr., both from of Bradford and Christopher (Eddie) Simmons of Magna, UT, step-daughters, Brandi Porter and Holly Porter, both of Magna, UT, step-son, Phillip Smith of Bradford.
Surviving grandsons include Tyler Simmons, Taylor Lee and Westen Smith. Granddaughters include Emilee Lee, Katelynn Lee and Elleina Smith.
His is also survived by a special niece, Anna Gross, and many other nieces and nephews.
Ace is also survived by his brothers; James (Hope) Gross, Steve (Betty) Simmons and his sisters; Cindy (Bob) Skaggs, Sharon (Allen Woodruff) Cordner, Kelly (Tom) Knapp, Barbi Jo (Mike) Skaggs and brother-in-law Dave Kremer.
Ace was predeased along with his parents, by his step-mom, Shirley (Bunce) Simmons, and also by his siblings; brothers,Theron Jack Simmons (TJ), George Simmons, Kelvin Gross and his sisters, Aldeana Mae Ferry and Lori Kremer.
Ace attended Smethport High School and received his GED. He enlisted in the United States Navy May 3rd, 1972 and was honorably discharged December 13th, 1976, serving in Vietnam. He was a Navy Seabee.
Ace was kind of a simple man. Didn’t need much. Would give you the shirt off his back in a heartbeat.
Ace did a lot of odd jobs, always helping out where ever he could make a dollar. His last job when he retired was working with his son at Ace Deuce Construction.
Ace took care of his Mom most of his life. Together they enjoyed traveling, going to flea markets and collecting things to later sell, always looking for that deal. He enjoyed playing pool, scrapping metal, fishing and having his wife & dog, Gizmo, by his side. He will be truly missed. But “look at the bright side”, he can be reunited with his Mom, who he never left for long! The family will notify everyone when visitations will be, at a later date.
