Randall K. Wilkin Jr., 78 of Mt. Prospect was born September 5, 1943, in Chicago to Randall K. Wilkin Sr. and Agnes (Rowan) Wilkin and passed away May 6, 2022. Randy was the beloved husband of Hilary (Harris) Wilkin; loving father of Heather (Marc) Srodulski, Erin (Jason) Rosenberg and Brendan (Jamie) Wilkin; cherished grandfather of Summer, Lily, Maggie, Benjamin, Madeline and Isabella; dear brother of Michael (Sue) Wilkin Sr., Mary Wilkin and the late Kathryn Wilkin; brother-in-law of Lauryn Belton, Suzanne Gilbert and Larry (Jeanne) Harris and beloved uncle and devoted friend to many.

Randy received a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree in 1965 from Marquette University where he was a proud member of the Triangle Fraternity. Randy was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969 and served two tours in Vietnam, the latter, as Officer-in-Charge of a Seabee Team. Thereafter, he joined Wilkin Insulation Co. and eventually became President and Co-owner. Prior to his retirement, Randy was very active with the Residential Construction Employers Council (RCEC) serving as its President and as a Lifelong Director. He was also Chairman for the RCEC Carpenters Union Negotiating Committee and sat on the Owens Corning Fiberglass Contractors Advisory Board.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 3-7 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights and Monday, May 16 at St. Raymond De Penafort Church, Elmhurst Road (Rt. 83) and Lincoln Streets in Mt. Prospect from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
