Lieutenant Commander
WILLIAM BILL ARTHUR KIBBY Bill was born in Los Angeles in 1929. He earned a MA in Architecture at Stanford University in 1953. There he met his future wife, Kay. Both were active in technical theatre production.. During the Korean War he joined the Navy Civil Engineer Corps, serving with the Seabees in Japan and stationed at Ford Island in Honolulu. Later, he worked as an architect in the SF Bay Area for 33 years. His projects included schools, residences and resorts. He particularly enjoyed his work at Yosemite – designing resort facilities and laying out campgrounds. He and Kay retired to Honolulu in 1990, to join other family members. Bill was a good, kind man. He never had a mean word for anybody. He was an avid traveller and expert photographer. He is survived by his wife, Kay, nieces Kulia Dillavou and Alice Barber, and their families. Interment service at Punchbowl Cemetery March 4, 2025 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Manoa Valley Theatre or Waikiki Aquarium.
