Paul F. Jacobs 85, of Manns Choice, died Thursday, October 10, 2024 at his residence.  He was born on November 1, 1938 in Highland Park, MI a son of the late Ardell F. and Adaline J. (Ruottinen) Jacobs.  On October 4, 1992 in Manns Choice, he married Catherine F. (Shonholz) Jacobs who survives along with two children: Jennifer A. Jacobs, of Manns Choice, and Paul F. Jacobs Jr. and wife Amy Grace, of Belgrade, MT.

Paul was a 1957 graduate of Highland Park High School, and then received a degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University in 1962.  He then joined the Navy, serving during the Vietnam era, and was stationed as the officer in charge of Palmer Station in Antarctica. While in the Navy, he earned his Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.  Paul retired from the Navy in 1983, and moved to Manns Choice in 1995.  He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, and a board member of the Bedford County Library, where he taught adult reading classes.  While residing at the White Sulpher Springs community, he volunteered with developing building plans, building projects, and home schooled their two children.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.  at the Harrison House at White Sulpher Springs Conference Center in Manns Choice. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service.  Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Timothy A.
