Oscar was born at home to parents Neva and Eric Hoglund. He attended Everett schools, graduating from Everett High School in 1953. He had a strong interest in “hot rodding” cars and building dragsters, racing them at Arlington airport. He and his friends started a car club called the “Accelerators.” This interest in cars led him into his lifelong occupation of auto upholstering. He was a long-time business owner of “Hoglund’s Top Shop “and “Churchill Brothers”, a boat canvas business in Everett and Anacortes, until retirement. He served thirty-five years in the U. S. Navy “Seabees” Reserves, reaching the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer Equipmentman. Oscar was a long-time member of the NMCB18 Retired Chiefs Association, The Fleet Reserve Association and Kiwanis International. In retirement, he enjoyed spending winter months in Rancho Mirage, CA. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents and son Daniel Hoglund. He is survived by his widow Marian Dent-Hoglund, sister Edith Stocker, brother Erv Hoglund, daughter’s Monica Lyons ( Dan Schmidt ), Patty Voss (Michael), and son Brian Hoglund(Vicky) , plus numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services for Oscar will be announced at a later date. Oscar will be buried at Tahoma National Cemetery with grave side services. March 2, 1935 – January 14, 2021
