James Harold “Peanut” Little went to his heavenly home April 22, 2025. He was born September 25,1946 in Townley, Alabama.
Peanut served 2 tours of duty in Vietnam as a Navy Sea-Bee. After returning home he worked for many years in construction and the coal mines. Finishing his working career as a school bus driver for the Walker County system.
He was honored to be a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Post 4850 for many years serving as Chaplain at Post, District and State levels.
He was a devoted man of God, being blessed to have had two special churches that he called home where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and any other work God lead him to do for 25 years. He was a devoted husband, daddy and papa to his 3 girls. His big heart, contagious smile and Godly personality left him loved by everyone he met.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Hunters Chapel Holy Church of Christ, funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Day Cemetery. Darrin Reynolds and Sam Cain will officiate.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by his Father-Marvin H. Little; Mother-Ruby Jones Little Simpson; Brother-Royce Little; Sister-Susie Martin; Father-in-law-J.E. Jack Stacks.
He is survived by his Wife-Janet Little; Daughter-Tera “Buffy” Higginbotham; Sister-Tammy Glasglow (James); Brothers-Chuck Little and Dennis Little (Faye); Granddaughter-Abbi Higginbotham; Mother-in-Law-Myra Stacks.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Warren, Dustin Warren, Nicholas Glasglow, Terry Medders, Colby Willingham, Arnold Morris and Jarrett Martin.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Peanut’s brothers and sisters in the Veterans of Foreign Wars “VFW”.
