Karl A. Brunner, Jr., passed away, 77, at his home on July 9, 2021, in Virginia Beach, VA.
He was born on April 8, 1944, to the late Karl and Charlotte Brunner in Cooperstown, New York. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laurette, and was father to Karen Brunner and also Karl Brunner, III (Angie) and step-father to Shaun Spiers and Chad Spiers, and also Erika, who was like a daughter. He was grandfather to Rebecca, Karl, IV (Aubari), Britney, and Nicholas and step-grandfather to Andrew and Nathan. He is also survived by his siblings, Julia, Christine (Jim), and Cliff (Patti). In addition, Karl had many dear nieces, nephews, and extended family which were a big part of his life.
Karl was a Navy Veteran, and served his country proudly, retiring as a Seebee Chief (EOC) after 21 years of service.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Princess Anne Chapel in Virginia Beach on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 6 to 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 17, at 3pm. Interment will follow at Colonial Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, 1861 Kempsville Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23464 or Union Mission Ministries, PO Box 3203, Norfolk, VA 23514.
