Final Salute

Nielsen, Roald “Nick” ATTN: Local 49. Age 83 of Glencoe and formerly of Eden Prairie, passed away on November 11, 2021. Preceded in death by parents; infant son, Michael and granddaughter, Gabrielle Anderson. Survived by wife of 62 years, Kay; daughter, Lauri Anderson (Larry Sothan); son, Lyndsey Nielsen; grandchildren, Gilliann Charnstrom and Andrew (Amber) Nielsen; great- grandchildren, Harrison, Audrey and Conrad; siblings, Ann Svendsen, Barbara Jorgenson, Ronald (Valerie) Nielsen and Nancy (Jim) Mankin; many nieces and nephews. Nick loved his family and friends deeply. He was a proud Naval Sea Bee Veteran, serving in Kodiak, AK, Philippines, Midway and Adak, AK from 1956-1960. Nick was a Mason and Shriner and a member of Local 49. He took great pride as a crane operator and really enjoyed a good job “hanging iron.” In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Shrine Hospital.
