EO3 Mark A. Romaniw

PO3/EO3

Date of passing 08/23/2025

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, at age 50 Mark passed away suddenly surrounded by love.

Mark was devoted husband of Jennifer Romaniw (Sampson) and doting father to Jonathan and Jason Romaniw. Additionally, he is survived by his mother, Sophie Romaniw, siblings Jennie Serban (Peter), Christopher Stoica (Jacklyn) as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, his military brothers and friends – many of which he considered family.

As a proud Navy Seabee Mark honed his skills as a heavy equipment operator. He continued the “Can Do” attitude by operating his own concrete contracting business. He was a true artisan of his craft, masterful at networking and connecting the right people to the right jobs to ensure that everything was done to his standard.

While he loved his work it was his sons that brought him an immense sense of pride. He was proud to say they were his greatest achievement. The boys could often be seen on the jobsite with Mark or next to him learning how to operate equipment. Mark was always eager to spend time and make memories with them, he especially enjoyed watching them play hockey in recent years. He was happiest when his boys were nearby.

Mark has often been described as a larger-than-life person who always let you know what he thought. His genuine heart will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched. Those lucky enough to have had him in our lives are forever grateful for the impact he made and will miss him deeply.

Relatives and friends are invited to join his family in celebration of his life and legacy on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 12 Noon until his Memorial Service at 2:00pm at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154.
