Mr. Osborne was born on January 23, 1953 in Salisbury and was the son of the late Paul and Rachel Clary Osborne. Mr. Osborne was affectionately known as “Sonny” to all that knew him. Sonny honorably served in the US Navy on the USS Vulcan, was a Vietnam Era Veteran and also served as a Seabee EO2 in the Navy Reserve. After his military service, Sonny pursued his passion for the trucking industry and both of his sons followed in his footsteps. He worked over 30 years as a truck driver, dispatcher and yard manager for many companies, over 20 of those years for R. Wayne Bost Trucking. Sonny was very active in the Veteran community and served as 1st and 2nd Vice Commander and four years as Commander at Legion Post 448 Granite Quarry, a member of Hart Legion Post 14, Life Member of AMVETS Post 845 in Rockwell and was Vice President of the Auxiliary at the VFW Post 3006. What Sonny enjoyed most was spending time with his family by taking them out to dinner or cooking for them. In addition to his parents and brother David Osborne, he was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Rebecca Sue Jennings Osborne and his beloved son Paul Osborne Jr. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Shaun Osborne and wife Laura of Granite Quarry and daughter-in-law Becky Osborne of Linwood. He was known as “PaPaw” to his adoring grandsons Jackson, Sawyer and Pierson and granddaughter Rylee.
