Date of birth 06/08/1947
Date of passing 01/01/2025

David C. Anderson left this world at the age of 77 on January 1, 2025, in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. David was the son of Carl (Bud) Anderson and Anne (Clauer) Anderson. He was born on June 8, 1947, in New Milford, Connecticut, where he grew up and laid the foundations of a life marked by long lasting friendships and a love the outdoors
David graduated from New Milford High School in 1965. His early interest in mechanics steered him toward a career that kept him close to the roads and landscapes he loved. He served his country with distinction as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the U.S. Navy Seabees, based in Chu Lai, Vietnam. Following his service, David returned to New Milford. For 30 years, he was employed and retired from the State of Connecticut as a Highway Engineer.
David’s passion for the outdoors was unmistakable. As an avid fisherman, he enjoyed fishing local trout streams, Long Island Sound, charters on the Hudson with his fishing buddies, and the time spent at his cabin on Lake Ontario. Boating, upland bird hunting with his dog Anny, and pheasant hunting the farm fields of Wisconsin were some of his favorite pastimes.
Bluegrass music, line dancing, Nascar Sundays, and an occasional good bourbon were things David enjoyed. His garage was full of tractor parts, and he could often be found working on farm and garden machinery.
David’s life was one of connections to both the land and the people around him. He valued the many relationships he made throughout his life and was described by those who knew him as handy, good-natured, and dependable. David’s absence will be felt deeply by his family, including cousins Elaine, John, Patricia, Karen and Peter.
The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for David, including his closest friends and caregivers in New Milford and Wisconsin.
A private burial will be scheduled in June in New Milford, Connecticut.
