Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2025.

Warren was born in Salt Lake City, Utah February 23, 1934, to Leland Frank Bates and Ruth Elizabeth Maycroft. He attended schools in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School in 1952.

In 1957 Warren married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Shyrl Faye Broschinsky in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home in North Salt Lake raisingtwo sons and two daughters.

Warren served active duty in the U.S Navy as a Radar Man2nd Class

aboard U.S.S. Finch DEB-328 stationed in Seattle Washington and later transferred to

U. S Navy Seabees in SanFrancisco until his retirement in 1986.

Warren worked for Salt Lake City Corp from 1952-1969 after which he worked for his father-in-law, Clyde atCrown Plating Company, purchasing half the business after Clyde’s retirement.

He is survived by his sons Jeffrey (Sue), Kevin (Jamie), daughters Leslie, Amy (Todd), many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Warren was proceeded in death by his wife Shyrl, his parents and brothers Paul George Bates, and Leland Maycroft Bates.
