Milton Joseph Overlock of North Adams, MA, died on May 30, 2025 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.

He was born in Pittsfield on May 9, 1947 a son of the late Joseph William Overlock and Louise Madeline Coffey Overlock. Milton graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1966, and afterwards joined the navy in October. He served on two LST’S and one ammunition ship. He did two tours on the LST’S in Mekong Delta in Vietnam starting in 1968 until 1969. In 1970 he was offshore on an ammunition ship in Vietnam, he was discharged in August the same year.

He went to Berkshire Community College for a while. Milton was a member of the Local 473 Laborer’s Union in Pittsfield. Milton joined the Seabee’s in 1984 and retired in 2000 as a first-class equipment operator. In 1973 he married Sandra Chittenden; together they had one son, Joseph Ryan Overlock. Milton worked for Petricca Construction for many years, he also worked at Weston Solutions, later retiring in 2006. He was Assistant Scout Master of Cub pack 88 in North Adams where his son, Joe, was a cub scout. He went on many camping trips with the Cub Scouts and was very involved with his son. He enjoyed his time as Assistant Scout Master. He also volunteered at the Food Project at the First Congregational Church in North Adams for many years making and serving meals. He enjoyed meeting and helping everyone. He enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes with his son, they both had their ham radio licenses. He also enjoyed helping his fellow Seabee buddies with different projects they did. When they retired, he and his good Seabee friends Mike Luczynski and Eric Hanson would help with different projects calling themselves FOG (Four Old Guys). Every fall they would tap the trees for maple syrup and collect it and boil it down and pack it. He enjoyed doing that every year.

Milton had lived in his home in West Sand Lake along with his son Joseph, his wife Alison and his four grandchildren Olivia, Ethan, Glenn and Meaghan. His grandchildren were very special to him. He spent a lot of time with them. He loved it when they would cuddle up in his lap and watch cartoons. He loved his grandchildren and lived for them. There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. Milton moved back to North Adams in 2022. He is a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Rensselaer NY.

He leaves his wife Sandra, their son Joseph, his wife Alison and grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan, and Glenn Overlock and Meaghan Leahey. He leaves his daughter-in-law Sandy O. Overlock and her son Austen Pekosz. He also leaves his brother Thomas Overlock, his wife Linda of Holyoke and his sister Louise Faust of Florida. He also leaves a nephew David Faust, his wife Janice of Florida and a niece Colleen Passetto her husband Joe and daughter Amber of Hinsdale. And a niece Carolyn D’Orazio, her husband Jason and their daughter Lily of Long Island NY. He was predeceased by his sisters Helene Stroud and Nancy Malloy.

Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Milton Overlock will take place on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli Funeral Home, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA. A calling hour will take place on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
