Milton E. Partridge Obituary

Milton Edward Partridge, 82, of Albany passed away Monday.

He was born in Olney Springs, Colo., to Edward and Wilma (Clark) Partridge.

Milton and his family moved around Colorado and California from 1927 to 1944, eventually coming to Oregon. He graduated from Molalla High School in 1944. He served in the Navy in the Philippines during World War II and the Korean War.

He married Genevieve Shilts in 1948. Their only child, Karon, was born in 1949. They later took in Lissea and Mary Logue as foster daughters. They lived in Scotts Mills and Sweet Home while Milton worked for lumber companies. They moved to Salem in 1968 and Milton went to work for the Oregon Correctional Institution. He retired in 1986. They moved to Idaho and then back to Oregon, settling in the Irrigon/Hermiston area in 1991. In 2006 they moved to Albany, Oregon’s Cambridge Terrace Assisted Living Community.

Milton loved hunting, fishing and recreational mining.

He is survived by his brothers Howard of Omaha, Neb., Harold and Edward of Sweet Home and Stanley of Crabtree; sister Janice of Bend; grandson Sean McCallister of Lakeview; granddaughter Dawn Pfau of O’Fallon, Ill.; foster daughter Lissea Clapp of Strawberry Plains, Tenn.; great-grandchildren Justin and Erica McCallister of Lakeview and Kelsi Pfau of O’Fallon, Ill.; and foster grandchildren Jackie Clark and Edwin Clapp of Tennessee.

Milton was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Genevieve, in July 2009; daughter Karon McCracken in 2007; parents Edward and Wilma Partridge; brothers Gene, Donald and Kenneth; and sister Emma Lou.

Viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, also at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Cemetery in Silverton.
