EO1 James E. Perkins

PO1/EO1

Date of birth 01/17/1938
Date of passing 01/05/2025

James Perkins was tough, tender hearted, loving and kind. Family was always on his mind! A more loving daddy no child could ever find. His one and only son John was his pride and joy; and so were his 3 Hunt sons:  James, Tim, and Micheal. Daddy did not play when discipline for their wrongdoing was on the line! In adulthood, with children of their own, these 4 sons thanked their beloved daddy for being one of a kind!

Perk was a dedicated husband to Ida, his wife of 50 years. His 4 sons & their wives, 9 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren were his pride & Joy!

He had a soft spot for all animals. The animals in Campbell Swamp will miss him because he bought food for all kinds, and they loved to visit and eat to their hearts content.

He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. He loved his church family. And really loved to aggravate and instigate much like his good friend Elmer Nielsen.

Perk was a proud US Navy SeaBee and a Warren County Road Department heavy equipment operator for many years. You could tell that he put his heart into his work by the many people who told him of how good a job he did.

Wherever he went he talked to people about the Lord. He loved and respected all people, and they felt the love.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Worley serving as officiant.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
