Herman “Hank” Steiner Obituary

Herman “Hank” Steiner, age 84 of Plant City, Florida passed away on November 19, 2017.

Hank was born on January 13, 1933 in Queens, New York to Max and Betty (Kreutzer) Steiner.

He retired from the United States Navy as and E6 after serving during Vietnam, Africa, Phillipines, Southpole and Korea. He was a member of American Legion Post 26. Hank also worked at Ryder Truck Rental as a Distribution Safety Manager. Although he loved serving his country and worked hard, he is also remembered for his love of playing poker.

Hank was also very involved in several charity organizations, some of which included DAV, Gordon Setter Rescue, St Jude’s, Metropolitan Ministries, American Legion, Moffitt Cancer Research and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Hank was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Steiner.

Loving family who survive are his wife of 58 years, Angelina Steiner; daughter, Christine Steiner; three sons, David Steiner (Wendy Williams), Edward Steiner (Michelle Glenn), Daniel Steiner (Stephanie); sister, Rhea Fixler; and three grandchildren, Marissa, Cameron and Dominic Steiner.

A funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, 1 pm at Wells Memorial Funeral Home in Plant City, Florida. Hank will receive military honors and will later be interred at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to donate in Hank’s memory to any of the organizations that were near and dear to his heart.
