Alan Arnold Lynch, born September 19th, 1955, in Denison, Iowa to Ruth (King) and David Lynch. Passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at his home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Alan enlisted in the Navy Seabees in 1974 and was stationed in New York where he met the love of his life, Patt. They started their life overseas in Sicily, where they married in 1976. Their first child, Christopher, was born in Italy in 1977. The family then moved to Eleuthera Bahamas in 1979, and later to Millington TN in 1989, where their second child Monique was born. They returned to Sicily in 1982, then moved to Long Island, NY in 1985 where they had their third child, Nicholas. The family relocated to Port Hueneme, CA where Alan retired as an Equipment Operator First Class) in 1994. After spending six months back on Long Island, the family settled here in Missouri Valley.

Alan loved fishing and birdwatching. Avid husker fan. Alan loved anything to do with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Favorite things about Alan: his caring nature, his kind eyes, family oriented, his service to his country, his willingness to put love above all else.

Alan’s Naval Awards: Navy Achievement Medal, three good conduct medals, two Navy and Marine Corps overseas ribbon, sea service deployment ribbon, navy recruiter ribbon, national defense service medal.

Remaining to cherish Alan is his spouse of 47 years, Patt Lynch. son, Nick Lynch, grandchildren Julia James and Lucy Lynch, great-grandchildren Nathin Youel and Christopher James, siblings Ron Lynch and Jennifer Gunia, sister-in-law Marti Lynch.

Preceding Alan in death are children Monique R Lynch and Christopher R Lynch, parents Ruth and David Lynch, brother Mike Lynch.

Memorials in Alan’s memory may be directed to HCHS.

Celebration of Life Gathering will be 6:00p.m-8:00p.m Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa.

Military Honors will be conducted at 7:00p.m.
