Final Salute

Walter Britt “Buddy” Robertson (84), of Jasper, FL, passed away on the morning of February 13, 2024, at the Lake City VA Medical Center Hospice. At the time of his passing he was in the presence of family and his beloved companion of 12 years, his pet dog “Rusty”.
Walter was born in Lake City, FL to Floyd and Alberta (Rosier) Robertson. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sister Evangeline Woods, and his brothers Albert, Thomas, Weldon, and Wendell Robertson. He is survived by his eldest brother, Warren Robertson, of Salem, Virginia, and numerous other relatives.
Walter was proud to have served in the US Army during the Vietnam war, before retiring as a heavy equipment operator in the US Navy Seabees. After his service, he enjoyed a career with the PCS Swift Creek Mine Maintenance Division until his retirement. Walter is remembered most for his kind spirit and generosity, which he readily extended to others, and he will be sorely missed by those close to him.
Walter’s commitment ceremony (with military honors) will be Tuesday, March 19th, 2024,10:00a at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL. The ceremony will be officiated by Walter’s dear friend and neighbor, Wilbur Johnson. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Humane Society of the United States or the American Heart Association
