Jeremy Paul Stephens, Beaumont, Texas, passed away in late February 2025 at the age of 52.

Jeremy was born on May 23, 1972 and lived a life defined by service, hard work and unwavering honesty. He proudly served in the United States Navy as a Heavy Equipment Operator in Seabee Construction Battalion 1, where he deployed overseas to Africa, Spain and Guam. Throughout his military career, he earned numerous accolades, including four Sea Service Deployments, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Navy Battle “E” Ribbon, the Humanitarian Medal, and marksmanship awards as a Rifle Expert and .45 Caliber Sharpshooter. His dedication and skill in heavy equipment operations made him a vital part of every mission he undertook.

Following his military service, Jeremy continued his passion for operating heavy machinery, working as a professional driver and equipment operator with Swift Trucking and Aulick Leasing. Whether behind the wheel of a semi-truck or handling massive machinery, he took pride in his work and tackled every challenge with determination.

Jeremy was headstrong and brutally honest to a T, a man who honored the world with facts-both useful and not-so-useful, depending on who was listening. His sharp wit and unwavering honesty made him unforgettable, always leaving an impression on those around him.

He was married to Margo for nine years and was a devoted father to his two sons, Jeremy and Clayton. He later welcomed his daughters-in-law, Janice and Vanessa, into the family, and found great joy in being a grandfather to Cadence and Jeremiah, who was named in his honor.

Jeremy is preceded in death by his mother Delda Bergeron; father Clayton Stephens; and brother Correy Stephens. He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and a legacy of hard work, honesty and resilience.

A celebration of life will be held at Haxtun Methodist Church on Friday, March 14 at 10 a.m. where family and friends will gather to honor and remember him. Jeremy will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His impact on those around him - through his service, his work and his unfiltered honesty – will live on.
