Walton William “Bud” Lappley Obituary

Walton William “Bud” Lappley, age 79, of Cable, Wis. (formerly of Oregon, Wis.), passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Sunset Home in Hayward, Wis. with his daughter, Lisa, by his side.

He was born on July 5, 1937, the son of Erwin and Dorothy (Legg) Lappley. He grew up and resided in the Oregon area most of his life and later resided in the northwoods of Wisconsin.

He joined the United States Navy on his 17th birthday and served from 1954-58. He was on the U.S.S. Wisconsin BB-64 and made two trips to Antarctica in Operation Deep Freeze II and III.

He was a car and truck salesman his entire life. He loved the outdoors – hunting, fishing and camping. He spent six months in Alaska and made many fishing trips to Canada.

He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Lappley (Jon Dougall) of Stoughton and Teresa (Matt) Trunkhill of Evansville; a brother, John (Donna) Lappley; a granddaughter; nieces; and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Killerlain.

A private burial will be held at a later date.
