Final Salute

Chief Petty Officer Ambrocio “Sonny” Rodriguez IV, age 71, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, in his home in Livingston, Texas. He was born on September 13, 1953, in Saginaw, Michigan to Ambrocio Rodriguez II and Guadalupe Rodriguez.

Soon after high school he joined the Navy reserves and proudly served 27 years. He loved his time as a Navy Seabee. He was stationed many places in the United States and other countries, including Okinawa, Japan and Cuba. In 2006, he was called to serve in the second Iraq war as a Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Seabee’s. While serving in the Navy as a Seabee he earned the following metals Navy/USMC Comm, Navy/USMC ACH Medal, Navy Reserve, National Defense, Iraq Campaign, War of Terror Service, Armed Forces Service, Humanitarian Service, Naval Res Merit Service, Navy Expert Rifle, and Expert Pistol Shot. While in the Navy he was trained to be a civil engineer and military police officer. As a civilian he used what he learned in the Navy and was very successful as a Civil Engineer and worked on many sites in Houston, Austin, North Carolina and South Africa.

He was a devoted husband of 42 years to Claudine Rodriguez and a devoted parent to late Bobby Rodriguez, Lola Gina Scoggins, Ambrocio Rodriguez V, and a devoted grandfather to Mills Treasure Rodriguez, Delaney Evangeline Rodriguez, and Alexis Jasmine Scoggins. He was also loved and devoted to his brothers and sisters, Cindy Rodriguez Torres, Late Rosalinda Rodriguez, Elizabeth Ann Rodriguez, Late Tina Louise Rodriguez, Late Michael Anthony Rodriguez, Late Bobby Rodriguez, Peggy Rodriguez, and Pearl Rodriguez.

A funeral service will occur Monday, December 16, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038. A committal service will occur Monday, December 16, 2024, from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.

Lunch will be served at Hasta La Pasta at 6915 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77379 after committal service.
