Final Salute

Christopher John Heidgerken died peacefully at Genesis East on January 8th, on The Feast of the Holy Family.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Chris will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 8 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

He was born July 31, 1949, the first born of Ted and Ollie Heidgerken’s six children. He was preceded in death by his siblings Tedi and Mike and is survived by Kitty (Stender), Bernie, and Albert. On March 7th, 1970, Chris was joined in marriage to Bev Lineburg.

The marriage begot six wonderful children: Sean (Christina Anderson), Brian (Megan O’Leary), Daren (Jessica Kearney), Tadd (Ruth Koelewyn), Anna (Jason Blackburn) and Craig (Bethann Gavin). Chris and Bev have 13 loved grandchildren and look forward to the many future great grandchildren.

Chris was proud of his service to the country through his years in the Seabees. He dedicated his life to the service of the Catholic Church and sharing his faith. He found purpose in modeling his life after St. Joseph. He is now at peace.
