Ronald Dee “Ron” Hall, age 77 of Harrisburg, passed away at 5:37 AM, Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Carrier Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Ron was born on August 28, 1947 in Eldorado to the late Paul Dee and Wanda Lee (Davis) Hall. He married Cheryl Burpo on November 29, 1997 and she survives in Harrisburg. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy Seabees for 20 years until his retirement in 1990. Sixteen of those years he was stationed in his favorite place, Gulfport, Mississippi; and he also served in other locations including Morrocco, Spain, Cicily, and Japan. Later in life Ron worked as a truck driver for Clark Farms. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner while living in Gulfport. Ron served as a Deacon for the Carrier Mills Social Brethren Church for over 20 years. He was a volunteer for the USS LST Ship Memorial Inc. LST-325 in Evansville, Indiana. Ron was an avid reader and was a fan of Louis L’Amour and he owned all of his novels. Ron also enjoyed watching John Wayne movies and he loved a good cheeseburger. He also loved his dog “Sadie”.  Ron was all about God, country, and family.

In addition to his wife Cheryl Hall, Ron is survived by his daughter, Sarah Chin and husband Kevon of Fortson, Georgia; three grandchildren, Kendyl Cuyler and husband Josh of Fort Riley, Kansas; Jason Hasdorff of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina; and Maddox Carter of Cameron, North Carolina; two bonus grandchildren, Bella Chin and Amber Chin of El Paso, Texas; one great grandchild on the way; two sisters, Paula Reeves of Carrier Mills, Illinois; and Pam Whiting of Stonefort, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Ronald Dee “Ron” Hall will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to USS LST Ship Memorial, Inc. and will be received at the funeral home or mailed to USS LST Ship Memorial, Inc., 610 NW Riverside Drive, Evansville, IN 47708
